I've been a more than satisfied customer at Vakgarage Hans Sloot for several decades. I live in the west of the Netherlands, and while sometimes inconvenient, it's worth the drive. Hans Sloot stands for craftsmanship, integrity, service, and reliability. No shady dealings or unclear invoices, let alone scams. Anyone who claims otherwise probably has a loose spark plug themselves.

Professional garage? You mean, a professional scam! My grandparents had a loose spark plug after hitting a pole, and the subframe was also slightly bent. Engine failure and, of course, rocking like a rocking horse while driving. According to this garage, nothing could be done because the entire engine had to be removed. Completely ignorant and gullible, my grandparents bought a used 2011 Mercedes from this garage for the hefty sum of €10,000, and then they could turn in the old Mercedes with the loose spark plug and minor damage for €250, and then they agreed to it without a second thought. An old couple who doesn't want any hassle, or downtime with a car or anything like that. In their Achterhoek dialect, "It just has to be good!" What?! €250?! Are you crazy or what?! When I heard that, I immediately picked up the car and refunded the garage €250, saying I'd have someone work on it myself. According to this garage, I was told again how difficult it all was and that it would take some time and money. Rumbling and shaking, I took the car to two friends who tinkered with cars in a shed at a farm. After two hours, they called to say it was fixed. No engine out, and it only cost me a crate of beer. Suddenly, I had a car worth at least €3,500 again. How strange that my handymen are even more skilled than this garage. Now, a year later, my grandparents' condition has deteriorated rapidly and they're reluctant to go out on the road anymore. Unbeknownst to me, they contacted this garage again to see what they wanted for the 2011 Mercedes (bought here last year for €10,000). They could offer €5,000 for the car. So the car you bought from you last year for €10,000 has a depreciation of €5,000 per year?! The value of used cars decreases between 10% and 15% per year, so it should still fetch at least €8,500. That makes me wonder: Did you think you hadn't ripped off my grandparents enough by bidding €250 for their old Mercedes when it's worth at least 10 times as much after just two hours' work? And then you also sold them the new used car at a much too high price? Or are you trying to rip them off for the second time in a row by bidding far below the car's current value?

Bought a great car. Reliable and knowledgeable garage. I'd happily return here if we ever need to buy another car.
