On the advice of my garage, I was referred to Jos van Dartel to install a larger LPG tank in my Dodge Ram 1500. I requested a quote by email and received a price between €2,150 and €2,500 including VAT, which I accepted. Jos wanted to schedule the Dodge between Christmas and New Year's. He sent this to me on December 17th, to which I replied on December 19th that this was fine. I received no further response. I tried calling him several times, but without an answer (which I found somewhat understandable, given that the Christmas holidays were just around the corner). On January 5th (after the Christmas holidays), I immediately contacted them again and asked if we could still get the car ready in time for our winter sports holiday (departure on January 18th). The answer I received was: "Sure, that'll work, it'll be a day's work." That same day, I went to have the tank measured. On January 6th at 10:00 AM, I dropped off my Dodge at Jos's place so he could start the installation at any time. On January 16th at 2:45 PM (15 minutes before closing time), I received a WhatsApp message from Jos saying he wouldn't be able to install the tank. Naturally, I was incredibly disappointed. His message also indicated he'd rather start his weekend: "Does a suitable solution mean I have to wait until tomorrow evening?" Conclusion: Jos started this project far too late. On January 17th, I picked up the Dodge again to go on our winter sports holiday. Because of this, I had to drive a large distance on petrol instead of LPG, because refueling at night isn't possible. This is, of course, a shame, as it entails additional costs. After returning from my winter sports holiday, I took the Dodge back to Jos on February 5th to have the work completed. Holes had already been drilled in the tank, so returning wasn't really an option. On Thursday, February 19th, I received a WhatsApp message that the Dodge was (finally) ready, including a cost overview of €2,835 including VAT — €335 more than the agreed-upon amount. I responded that I expected a goodwill gesture and didn't understand why the costs were higher than previously agreed upon. (Jos had finally stated it was a one-day job, but the invoice states 12 hours of labor.) I picked up the car on February 24th. The tank is in the truck bed. In my opinion, the finish is very poor. Jos slipped into my truck bed several times, causing cracks, sharp edges, and damage. When I picked it up, I told him I was uncomfortable with this and wanted to discuss it. All I was told was that he couldn't do anything about it, that his finger had almost been broken by the tank, and that there was snow on the ground, preventing him from moving forward. (He had nine business days to do it and had previously stated it would be a one-day job.) And you probably sensed it coming: no goodwill whatsoever from Jos van Dartel. Not for the late delivery, not for the higher-than-agreed bill. Nothing. People, think twice before going to Jos van Dartel.

Jos recently installed an LPG G3 system in my partner's 2005 Volvo V50 2.4-liter 5-cylinder. Everything is beautifully finished, and the car runs perfectly on LPG. I don't notice any difference between LPG and gasoline. My partner can now enjoy many more safe kilometers.

Friendly, excellent LPG installation, 2 tons of mileage, always attentive, good service, and economical—it just depends on how far you press the pedal. Regards, Jan de Gier, Vught.
