For me, the Sprakel Brothers of Autobedrijf Sprakel are well-qualified mechanics with an impressive track record of experience and expertise. My experiences started off a bit rough. As a critical "Westerner" and based on previous experiences with dealerships, I had to get used to a more universally operating garage. Autobedrijf Gebr. Sprakel recently referred me to the official dealer/garage for a persistent (software) problem for my car. At the dealership, I encountered a socially cold environment, a woman at the front desk who didn't understand my technical explanation, the problem wasn't diagnosed or addressed, and I left the "bling-bling" building with a relatively hefty bill. Autobedrijf Gebr. Sprakel ultimately opted for a completely different and effective approach and solution, and that was spot on. In short, a brand dealership may sell beautiful, brand-new cars, but in my case, when it comes to technical and/or software problems, that doesn't provide the right insight to arrive at a satisfactory diagnosis. As a former pilot, when asked if flying is difficult, I always replied with the following: "You can even teach a monkey to fly, but then it has little to do with safe flight, let alone demonstrating airmanship." And that's what I saw happening at the dealership: checking off checklists without much thought, straightforward and heavily edited from above (possibly a form of well-intentioned interference), along with some rather annoying background music in the waiting room...
